DCM Mid Week Challenge : Number

Wow, ever so long since I last posted - lots of reasons, most of them boringly health related so I'll spare you the moany waffle.

Just seen the Daring Cardmaker mid week challenge, so thought I'd chuck this one in. It's the first "exploding box" I've ever made, not perfect but my lovely Sister In Law liked it - I used her favourite colours and some new bits and pieces I've acquired and been waiting for the opportunity to use. Her birthday was 17th June, so quite recent.
The mini envelopes contained a picture of her darling hubby and beautiful daughter - the other photos used were of the birthday girl herself (she's a bit photo shy, but we found some).
I did add some extra embellishments to the outside of the box on the panels that look plain on the first picture, but forgot to take more photos.
Enjoy my efforts - and I'm glad to be back, will look forward to getting into more challenges again.

DCM - Inside & Out

I cannot believe it's been a month since I last posted. Busy making Christmas Cards, buying gifts, working, preparing the house for Christmas and "suffering with my shoulder".
This card was made for a very special little girl - my grand-daughter Mia who turned 4 at the end of October. She is gorgeous, and has recently become entranced with The Wizard of Oz - much preferable to the Barbie Dancing Princesses or any Bratz "movie" as far as I am concerned.
Hope you all enjoy too.

DCM Golden Highlights

I've had a bit of fun today using up old stash and freebie papers from magazines.
For this one I used a freebie paper, a standard trifold aperture card, gold star vellum from a pad I have had for ages, a freebie gold wire christmas tree, a gold star brad (from a Lakeland set) to which I added a lilac stone from my stash - the Merry Christmas words strip is an offcut from a full paper sheet that had it printed diagonally (the words are printed in gold).

All About Eve - Love Your Body

Like almost everyone else who has participated in this challenge, it's not that easy to display a photo of yourself and express satisfaction with (let alone love of) your body.

I can't say I am happy with my body, even though I have had a quite a while to get used to it. Now that I'm over 50 I do feel invisible at times, I can't remember the last time I had a wolf whistle - but my lovely hubby does tell me he thinks I'm gorgeous and that's all that really matters to me.

DCM Getting Corrugated

One of my favourite materials yippee.

This is a slightly larger size card made for someone special. Corrugated card for both the tree and the pot, with gold miri card as the trunk, and the pot trimmed with a left-over strip of sticky ribbon. The "I Love You" 'baubles' were made from re-cycled large sequins - the letters are adhesive domes and they are threaded onto blue thread which matches the blue of the pot. The whole lot is mounted onto gold glitter card.

I think it looks a lot more luxurious in real life than on the scanned picture.

DCM and CUT Challenge

This one was nice and simple - stamped the kimono onto Shrink Plastic; cut it out with my own fair hands [and a pair of sharp scissors]; coloured parts of the pattern using Sakura Pens; shrunk the plastic; put some oriental type paper on the inside of the gold cardstock, cut across the front of the card diagonally, then layered up the "kimono topper" using my favourite CC plus gold card of a different tone to that of the main cardstock and job done !!
Hope you like it.
